| Abstract | 檳城鶴山極樂寺的建造緣自於馬來西亞華人的漢傳佛教信仰，寺院從最初設備簡陋的佛教道場發展至如今名聞遐邇、繽紛多彩的東南亞華人佛寺，是信眾與華人社群願力所成。其初期建築架構效仿祖庭中國福州鼓山湧泉寺的「伽藍七堂」制，而後期發展為迎合本土環境、宗教習俗的「因地而制」式，說明一個根源於中國漢土的華人寺院逐漸融入南洋異域特色而呈現在地化改變。 |
