Abstract竺家寧教授是國際知名的語言學專家，以誨人不倦，勤於研究，著作等身著稱，曾任教於淡江大學、擔任韓國首爾檀國大學客座教授，並於法國巴黎高等社會科學院進行敦煌佛經之語言研究，受聘為北京大學漢語史中心研究員，又曾擔任國立中正大學中文系主任、研究所所長。現任國立政治大學教授。
今年是竺教授六十大壽，他的門生為了紀念師恩，發起以精選論文，集結成冊的方式作為祝壽獻禮，因而有了本書的誕生。
