Abstract敦煌莫高窟地區自中唐時期已經發展出「觀音聖地」,為郡人朝禮之重地;石窟設計理念以當地深厚的華嚴及法華禪觀傳統為基調,結合密教的潮流,順勢開衍出豐富的觀音曼荼羅世界,譬如 161窟便是具有代表性的範例。以本窟高度敏感的圖像建構特質,適巧反映著觀音信仰的解行在晚唐成熟的面貌,繼之成為近代漢傳佛教最強勁的生命樹。莫高窟 161窟窟頂的五方觀音曼荼羅和環壁的三聖觀門,分別從密宗與顯教的觀點來描摹觀音主尊的功德身,彼此具有相互佐證及詮釋的作用,觀音法門的心與形在此窟中作了最完美的結合!行者居此窟內觀修,彷彿置身於觀音淨土,在千菩薩為伴的氛圍中常隨佛學,免去八難三塗之苦,投入施無畏者的懷抱,如是安忍,便是真入菩薩行者。無論從因行或果德來論此窟圖像,都具有深刻的連結性。 從密乘的解行特色來看,行者還是要立足在華嚴重重無盡的法界緣起中,來完成對般若真實義的印證,這才使得主尊與行者之間損忘銷融,因無形而無所不作。深諳「互作主伴」的行者,也往往可以將密法的殊勝力量發揮到極致。 本文結合了石窟圖像結構、教典義理組織、顯密觀修儀軌等,為晚唐漢傳觀音法門的理論與實踐做整合性研究,更提點出近代觀音法門起源和轉型的細節問題!
