Abstract寺院經濟是佛教發展的經濟基礎,中國寺院經濟形成於南北朝時期。政權對漢唐之際的寺院經濟發展有著重要的影響。以政權為代表的上層社會對寺院認可是寺院經濟產生的前提,政權、信眾的贈賜施捨是寺院經濟財富積累的基礎,寺院所從事宗教文化活動承擔著社會教化和慈善事務。寺院經濟的發展壯大與世俗地主經濟矛盾加劇,產生了種種限制寺院經濟的措施,其極端就是"三武一宗"滅佛。至唐代中葉後,寺院、僧尼的免稅特權逐漸消失,寺院經濟的經營模式也向禪林制度發展。

Chinese buddhist temple economy was shaped in North-South Dynasty period(A.D 420-A.D589).It was the foundation of Buddhism development in China.Government had an important impact on buddhist temple economy.To be accepted by government was the premise to give birth to Buddhist temple economy.Government and Buddhist almsgiving was the foundation of buddhism temple accumulating wealth.As the contradiction became acute between growth of Buddhist temple economy and temporal landholder economy,more and more measures to restrict the Buddhist temple economy development were adopted by government, and the extreme way was to forbid Buddhism. In the middle of Tang Dynasty, the tax-free franchise for temple and buddhist disappeared gradually, the management mode of buddhist temple economy was shifted to Zen Buddhist temple system, and the buddhist temple economy was eclipsed gradually later.
