The foundation and development of Chinese Buddhist inwardness theory was really influenced by the Confucianism, Taoism and metaphysics to some extent and this influence became more and more intrinsic and unnoticeable in the following years. But, in fact, it was the Indian Buddhism that played the decisive role while the Confucianism, Taoism and metaphysics just served as the pre-understanding and the historical roles. The great Buddhists in Sui and Tang dynasties theorized Chinese inwardness ontology on the basis of Confucian humanism, Taoism and substantialism of metaphysics in the background of internalization. This fully integration made Chinese Buddhism the unique system compared to the other ideologies.
