| Abstract | 太虛大師是中國現代佛教史上具最多自由關懷的佛教僧人，自由是貫穿其一生政治和宗教活動的主題. 他對自由的論說，具鮮明的個人特點，在現代思想史上獨樹一幟. 他把傳統佛教思想與近代自由觀念冶於一爐，極大地開拓了佛教思想的視野，賦予了佛家自由觀念以豐富的社會歷史內涵，有助中國佛教的現代化. 本文比較系統地論述了太虛的自由思想.
