Abstract本文以智圓所撰〈閑居編〉為據,述其思想之特色,並藉以略窺宋初佛法與儒學之交涉。
文中介紹智圓之生平及著述,並從其思想背景探其思想之淵源所自。因智圓生當佛法式微與儒學復興時,乃以其睿智,剴切儒學精義,深契佛法奧旨。尤於儒者排佛甚熾之時,明儒釋之理一貫,致力儒釋之會通,文中從各論點比較佛法與儒學之異同,從而顯示出智圓之思想特色,並於其力求儒佛之互通中,看當時佛法與儒學之交涉。
例如等同慈悲喜捨與博施濟眾、折攝與禮刑、五戒與五常,以謀儒佛之合一。就世間法而言,人成即佛成,佛法與儒學實有其共通之點,不宜妄加闢之,故智圓雖心入空門,仍「修身以儒」「宗儒為本」,力倡儒佛合一之論,並揭櫫儒釋道三教同源之旨。智圓云「釋道儒宗,其旨本融,守株則塞,忘筌乃通」,故於「宗儒為本」「申明釋氏」而著書為文時,「往往旁涉老莊以助其說」,此則三教同源,益加合乎「中庸」之道矣。要之,就佛家思想之儒學化而言,智圓實為當時重要代表人物之一。
