| Abstract | 斯里蘭卡是與印度隔海相望的島國,是佛教向亞洲南部傳播的第一站及中心地。自從公元前三世紀佛教傳入斯里蘭卡后,很快風靡這個島國,建立了南傳巴利語系佛教。印度一代又一代的虔誠僧侶渡海來到這個島國,大批的佛教經典源源不斷地被傳入斯里蘭卡。在那里產生了具有民族特色的論著和注疏,出現了不少著名的佛教僧人與學者。覺音是其中的佼佼者,他是南傳佛教的最大注疏家,對發展上座部的佛教理論作出了突出的貢獻。
This paper sketches out and discusses Buddhaghosa’s life story, his wri-ings,and the historical and religious backgrounds of his career; analyses thedhyna theories expounded in his Visuddhimagga; and points out his remarkablecontributions to the development and perfection of the Theravda Buddhistdeology. |
