Abstract (一) 禪宗的真正初但是慧能。從達摩到弘忍,這五代法裔相傳的過程是禪宗的預備階段;由于他們主要依持《楞伽經》,所以我們把這一時期的禪學史稱之為楞伽師承時期。在楞伽師遞相傳承過程中,道信(580—651)是至為關鍵的人物。他的禪學思想有許多獨到之處。史載南天竺僧侶菩提達摩在北魏時以“理入”和“行入”兩門傳授弟子:“然則入道多途,要唯二種,謂理、行也。籍教悟宗,深信含生同一真性;客塵障故,令舍偽歸真,凝住壁觀;無自無他,凡圣第一,堅住不移,不隨他教,與道冥符,寂然無為,名理入也。行入,四行,萬行同攝。初,報怨行者,修道苦至,當念往劫,舍本逐末,多起愛僧,今雖無犯,是我宿作,甘當受之,都無怨對……二,隨緣行者,眾生無我,苦樂隨緣;縱得榮譽等事,宿因所構,今方得之,緣盡還無,何喜之有,得失隨緣,心無增減,違順風靜,冥順于法也。三,名無所求行,世人長迷,處處貪著,名之為求;道士悟真,理與俗反,安心無為,形隨運轉;三界皆苦,誰得而安……四,名稱法行,即性凈之理也。”(《續高僧傳》卷16《菩提達摩傳》,見《大正藏》卷50)。
