Abstract天台宗的建立過程是：發祥于河南光山大蘇山，光山淨居寺是天台宗思想的發源地之一，以後再經過湖北當陽和湖南南嶽的演進，最後終成於天台山。學者們還對天台宗的思想、慧思的禪學理論、智者大師的貢獻，及天台宗與政治、儒學、文學等思想的關係，和百年來的天台宗研究，做了一定的探討，取得了一定的認識。光山具有豐富的人文和自然資源，應大力開發。今後將促進對慧思的研究，從而推動中國佛教歷史和思想的研究。
