Abstract對唯識學派而言,“唯識”的成立是首要大事。唯識家將因明邏輯引入對“唯識”的論證,促進了唯識思想的發展。在唯識學史上,“唯識”概念大致包括三層含義,這集中體現在三個命題,即“唯有表象”、“唯識無境”和“境不離識”。本文認為,無性、護法、玄對唯識的因明論證,代表了三種理論範型,體現了不同的哲學傾向,顯示了“唯識”義理的豐富性和復雜性。無性對唯識的因明論證包括“唯識無境”和“境不離識”兩層含義,護法的四比量則專證“境不離識”,玄的“真唯識量”則創造性地將“境不離識”轉換為“我們所認識的,只能是意識中的對象”,在認識論意義上予“唯識”以完整的證明。唯識家並沒有用因明的方式徹底論證“唯識無境”和“境不離識”,他們成功論證的,只是“唯有表象”。
