Abstract | Though this is an attempt to give Lao Tzu's philosophy a logical and systematic form, its primary aim is to ascertain what is of practical value in it for the world of today. After dealing with the problem presented to Sinologists by the text of the Tao-Te-Ching,the author gives his own interpretation of the concept of "Tao" in contemporary terms. He then summarises the Taoist movement in all its major aspects, and concludes with a discussion of the acceptability of Taoist ideas today. |
