This article would like to proceed from the perspective of a cultural comparison. It would like to compare the notions of behaveior cultivation, the ideal person and the ideal society in Confucianism and Buddhism. Iwould like to touch upon the part the Chinese Buddhist life view played in helping shape an overall Buddhist ethic, which is different from traditional Chinese ethics. The Chinese Buddhist Life Philosophy, however, played a part in shaping an overall Chinese Life Philosophy, which is different from that of the traditional Indian Buddhist Life Philosophy.
