Abstract | In this essay,I look at Western feminist critiques on Buddhism from Postcolonial perspective. I argue that Western feminists often neglect the complexity of Asian Buddhism, and the tendency to normalize Western values is also a form of oppression. In fact, some Western feminist critiques on Buddhism may have more to do with the concept of 'Western Buddhism' than with the genuine concern for Asian Buddhist women.
