Belief in the existence of Buddhism lands in all directions can be found in Mahāyāna scriptures. This belief, however, is, as the Sukhāvatīvyūha puts it, "a teaching not easily accepted by all beings" which is the case especially in ours science dominated age. Thus the present paper adopts an approach from the viewpoint of modern sciences like physics while discussing the probability of "rebirth in a pure land" and the meaning and value, in terms of existential purification, elevation and development, which this belief holds for the endless expanse of future time and space.
Science the 17th century, scientists engaged in research on humankind, other forms of life and the environment purely from a " materialistic" point of view. However, some of the philosophical concepts found in modern astronomy, cosmology, relativity theory, quantum mechanics, chaos theory, and the sciences of complexity do not contradict prajñāpāramitā thought, teaching of the Hua-yen school and belief in pure lands all of which belong to the Mahāyāna and show a tendency towards "idealism". Some ideas are even
identical. This helps us to confirm both the special qualities of Mahāyāna faith and the basic believes of "Mahāyāna being inseparable from mindfulness of the Buddha" and "rebirth in a land"
