| Abstract | 龍樹是佛教中觀派的創始人，也被中國多數宗派奉為祖師，在佛教史上地位很高。然而關於龍樹的時代問題諸說不一，差異很大。本文依據與龍樹有關的佛教經典、王朝歷史、神話傳說及古今史論等，指出龍樹的時代應在西元前26年到西元100年左右，並辨明瞭中國學者將龍樹時代推後的原因與誤區。
Nagarjuna was the founder of Madhyamaka.According to Mahamegha-sutra, Nagarjuna was born in about B.C.26, 460 years from the nirvana of Buddha.He died in about A.D.100, because as to the story of accient India, he had to commit suicide by the threat of the son of Gautamiputra, soon after, Gautamiputra died too, so his son became the king, instead of him, this event took place in about A.D.106, so Nagarjuna's tragedy came out not long before this year.Another reason, the student of Aryadeva, Matrceta, had writen a letter to Kaniska I, said that he was too old to visit the King, and the king was very young, Kaniska I was a great governor, he ruled the north India from A.D.105 to 132 about, as Aryadeva's student became an old man at the early days of Kaniska I, so Nagarjuna could only leave the world before. |
