| Abstract | 本文主要論述宋代文字禪，興起的社會條件、思想根源、理論依據、發展歷程和基本特點。宋代文字禪的興起和發展，與禪僧生活方式、修行方式的改變直接有關，與宋代士大夫普遍喜禪緊密相連。它演變的諸種形式，都毫無例外地與禪宗的公案之學結合在一起。禪宗從注重直觀體驗的證悟，轉向注重知性思維的解悟，是促成文字禪興起，並走向昌盛的思想動力。到南宋初年，具有不同社會及修行功能，反映不同思潮的文字禪、默照禪和看話禪，成為禪學中既相互獨立，又不可分割的三大組成部分，共同塑造了中國禪學的整體面貌和精神。
