| Abstract | 中國佛教的頓漸指修行者見悟道理的遲疾。所謂南領北漸，指頓悟與漸悟，是慧能與神秀分別在南北兩地弘傳的禪法。本文追溯中國佛教晉宋之際的頓漸分野，依次論述重漸修漸悟之神秀系統，主頓悟漸修的慧能、神會系統，倡無修頓悟的洪州、石頭二宗和五家，並從頓漸學說的理論根據、運思理路、禪修方式和終極境界上概括了南頓北漸的特點。
