Abstract阿賴耶識是瑜伽行派中極為重要的概念,乃一切雜染與清淨法的所依,具有一切種子、執受所依、異熟所攝的三種特質。因為阿賴耶識含藏一切精神與物質的種子,所以是我們的精神活動與身體生起的根源;阿賴耶識執受根身,所以身體的運作,背後必須有阿賴耶識此種內在深層的精神作用來維持它;阿賴耶識是以往業力所形成的果報總體。所以,對瑜伽行派來說,阿賴耶識才是生命的本質、生命的主體。它為以往的業力所決定,也決定有情未來的昇沉。

?layavijñāna, the very important concept in Yogācāra Buddhism, is the basis of the defiled and pure things. It has three properties: with all seeds, maintaining the body, and being karmic reward. Because ālayavijñāna stores
all seeds of the mental activities and materials, it is the origin of ctivating our consciousness and body. Also, ālayavijñāna is in charge of the functions of our organs, so it is a necessity to maintain the active life. Finally, ālayavijñāna is the reward of our past behaviors. Therefore layavijñānais the essence and the subject of life. It is determined by past karmas and can determine the future of sentient beings.
