| Abstract | 敦煌莫高窟第464窟原被定為西夏窟,但缺乏證據。近期的考古研究材料可證,該窟的開鑿其實當在北涼,原為禪窟,至元代才被改造為禮佛窟。由前室通往后室的甬道兩壁各存漢風菩薩兩身,其中南壁右側4行文字講述的是五地菩薩之容貌,左側4行文字講述的則是四地菩薩,北壁左側9行文字講述的則是十地菩薩之裝飾,右側的當為九地菩薩。藉由回鶻文題記,十地菩薩繪畫內容第一次在敦煌石窟中得到確認。通過逐字對譯,可以明顯看出,這三段回鶻文標注內容皆來自勝光法師譯回鶻文《金光明最勝王經》第4卷。故可定,三榜題皆為勝光法師譯《金光明最勝王經》之摘抄。這一發現,結合該窟發現的回鶻文寫本與其他題記,可以證明莫高窟第464窟甬道與前室為元代末期的回鶻窟,而后室壁畫可以確定為元代遺墨,但早于甬道與前室之壁畫,可定為元代早期遺存。
Both the north wall and the south wall of the corridor in Mogao Cave 464 at Dunhuang have two Chinese-styled Bodhisattva images with inscriptions.The four lines of the inscription on the right side of the south wall describe the appearance of the Fifth Stage Bodhisattva and the four lines on the left side tell of the appearance of the Fourth Stage Bodhisattva.The nine lines on the left side of the north wall relate the ornaments of the Tenth Stage Bodhisattva.So these inscriptions are the annotations for each Bodhisattva,and the image on the right side of the north wall can be inferred as the Ninth Stage Bodhisattva.It is evident that the three Uighur inscriptions are quoted from the Uighur version of Altun Yaruq translated by ngqo S li Tutung.This fact,together with the Uighur manuscripts and other Uighur inscriptions in the cave,demonstrates that the corridor and front chamber of cave 464 were constructed by Uighurs at the end of the Yuan dynasty,while the paintings of the back chamber,which are earlier than those of the front chamber and corridor,would have been created in the early Yuan dynasty. |
