| Note | Yasuaki Nara is the author of numerous books on Buddhism and is chairman of the Society for the Promotion of Buddhist Studies. He received a LittD from the University of Tokyo in 1973 and taught the history of Buddhist culture at Komazawa University, Tokyo. Later he became president and then chancellor of Komazawa University, retiring in March 2006 as a professor emeritus. |
