| Abstract | 羅漢是梵語Arhat的音譯簡稱，意譯有三種含義：一殺賊，意思是殺盡一切煩惱之賊；二應供，意思是接受人天供養；三不生，不再受輪迴之苦。羅漢本為佛教小乘追求的終極目標，但是在釋迦牟尼佛的規勸和鼓勵下，羅漢們紛紛回小向大，「住世不涅」，幫助維護大乘佛教，於是在大乘佛教里也有了他們新的地位和作為。羅漢的形象都是出家比丘相，頭部無須發，身著袈裟，全身無任何裝飾，或坐或立，栩栩如生，是藏傳佛教各類造像中最為樸實無華的藝術形象。
The differences between the images of Arhan worshipped by Tibetan Buddhism and that of Arhan worshipped by Han Buddhism are given in this paper. |
