AbstractThe article presents a reprint of the article "The Origin and Growth of Medicine in Tibet," by Lobsang Rabgay, which appeared in "Tibetan Medicine." It explores the origination of medicine in Tibet, China. It notes that Sakyamuni Buddha has simultaneously taught the science of medicine with the teachings of the first, second and third wheels of Dharma wherein he represented himself as Bhaishayaguru, the Medicinal Buddha.
