| Abstract | 明代是高僧輩出的朝代，在這個朝代中出現了許多深悟禪理，又兼修淨土的高僧。杭州上天竺寺沙門慧日法師即是其中之一。慧日法師，號東溟，俗姓賈，浙江天台人，宋代宰相賈似道之諸孫。法師年少時志求出家，依止本縣廣嚴四平山和尚學法，數年之後落發受具足戒。師22歲時，聽聞柏子庭在赤城講天台教觀，於是前往聽法。 |
