Abstract本書作者花費十余年時間對5～8世紀漢文化區域內主要石窟寺及石刻造像進行田野調查，並現場手繪佛像的着衣，通過與古代文獻資料的比對研究，探討了此時期佛衣的演變脈絡和源流。同時，通過對佛衣中通肩式、袒右式、覆肩袒右式、搭肘式、露胸通肩式、上衣搭肘式、上衣重層式和中衣搭肘式等八種類型的分析，展示了當時佛教文化傳播與社會歷史發展的概貌。
