Abstract天台華嚴的「圓融」思想是中國漢傳佛教的特色。對「圓融」思想的特質理解需扎根於天台華嚴本身的內涵。首先需廓清「圓融」意義的背景,圓融思想是統攝「境,行,果」,是外在世界與內在世界的高度統一;再則需明確圓融思想所面對的核心問題即教的問題。「圓融」的內容具體可歸為教的圓融與觀的圓融,教偏於理,而觀偏於統一心與境。天台宗中通過龍樹《中論》所提到的「空、假、中」來圓融教觀,而華嚴宗則據華嚴經的「一真法界不過自體因果」,通過理與事乃至事與事的方式來圓融。圓融思想難以理解與表達,天台宗中對於說理的方式認為有四悉檀和三隨之說,而華嚴宗對圓融境主要是唯智說。
