Abstract本文檢視尼柯耶與阿含經中與證智/神通相關之項目,包括三明、五勝法、五通、六通、八個現世沙門果幾種類別在經典中的各種用例。從每一項目、類別的仔細比對中,發現三明與六通、世俗五通與六通、甚或是第六通之間存有差異;且五勝法與三明的性質不同,前二勝法之納入解脫學的範圍中應該是不恰當的。本文主張,佛陀三明證道的用例應是最重要且最早的說法,六通是較後才加入者,六個項目先出現,形成一個組合,最後才被賦予「六證智」的稱呼。五通的想法可能是受到「神變」觀念被擴大解釋為證智的用法所影響。八個現世沙門果表示四禪之後可以導向八法的其中一法,可以走解脫的方向(三明),也可以走非解脫的方向(五勝法)。此檢視說明從佛教解脫學內在嚴謹的理路來釐清這些差異,會比「故事佛學」或「敘事的記載」,在闡釋與印證證智/神通的觀念與理論,來得清晰和重要。
