While Management Studies emphasizes rationality and practicality, Buddhist Studies investigates the supramundane truth. So whether or not Buddhism can be used in management and improve its capabilities is an interdisciplinary
question worth investigating. Venerable Master Hsing Yun is deeply proficient in understanding Buddhism while also having extensive experience in management. He proposed the “Greatest Management Studies” based in Buddhism, which discusses the concepts and cases of integrating Buddhist Studies with Management Studies. The “Avalokitesvara's Model of Management” and “Amitabha's Model of Management” that he proposes is of deep insight and can provide inspiration for the world of management. Avalokitesvara's Model of Management emphasizes managers giving rise to outstanding capabilities such as wisdom, compassion, and courage to perform well. Amitabha's Model of Management focuses on managers and staff pushing themselves to do what is most necessary and integrative to reach the greatest results. The two have overlapping meanings, as they both teach managers to improve their spiritual ability to ascend to the greatest heights of managerial ability.
