| Abstract | 當和平受到威脅、國族面臨侵略時，奉行慈悲、忍辱的佛教徒，應如何應對？本文通過對大小乘佛教經典文獻和歷史傳統的分析，探
討佛教與國家／國族主義、守持佛教戒律與奉行國民義務之間的關係，以及佛教慈悲理念與暴力實踐之間的張力。通過這樣的研究，
我們希望重新認識佛教的和平理念及其實踐。
What will Buddhists who are committed to compassion and tolerance react if peace is threatened by violence and their nation is invaded by foreigners? By examining Buddhist texts and historical records, this paper investigates the relations among Buddhism, nation/nationalism, observing Buddhist precepts and fulfilling national duties, as well as Buddhist idea of compassion and practice of violence. By such study, a true meaning of peace in Buddhism may be revealed. |
