Abstract | 星雲大師回歸佛陀本懷,重新梳理並且整合了佛陀的超越智慧,運用現代化語言詮釋佛教經典,反思現實社會,提出「發心與發展」以及「自覺與行佛」,作為人間佛教實踐與修行的法門,其核心就是人間佛教的社會修持理論,強調指出「制度就是戒律」,強調戒律之前人人平等,就如社會上「法律之前,人人平等」的道理,應當成為人間佛教社會建設的基本路徑。
Venerable Master Hsing Yun, in returning to the Buddha’s original intents, uses modern language to interpret Buddhist texts to not only clarify but also systematize the transcendental wisdom of the Buddha. With considerations of current society, the Venerable Master proposed “to resolve and to develop” and “Self-awareness and Practicing the Buddha’s Way” which are practical cultivations of Humanistic Buddhism. These teachings of social practices in Humanistic Buddhism indicate systems of discipline. In other words, there is equality before discipline, similar to the laws in society ‒ there is equality before the law. Hence, such are the foundations for establishing a Humanistic Buddhist society. |
