Abstract 竺道生的"善不受報義"是佛教倫理思想的一種表現。在道生的佛教倫理思想中,善可分為"世善"與"本善","世善"是昧於佛教空理的世俗善行,這種修行可以獲得人天果報,但不能獲得究竟的佛果。"本善"是與理相應之善,理是指佛教的空、一乘及佛性等概念,理是善的本體,善是理的屬性。但道生認為,"本善"也不能導致究竟佛果。因為道生提倡"頓悟成佛義",在此理論基礎上,眾生通過智慧理解不可分之理即可頓悟,因而慧解是成佛之因,與善惡無關。這種理論表現出道生極其重視精神智識發展的佛教德性論態度,這種德性論教育在當代社會主義文化建設中也應予以充分重視和正確引導。
