Abstract近十餘年來,佛教的正念訓練正以一種嶄新的教學型式呈現,即所謂以正念為基礎的課程。正念以促進身心健康為號召,逐漸成為科學熱門研究對象,融入西方世界的主流社會,進入到醫學中心、跨國企業、一流大學、中小學幼兒園、政府機構、矯正機構乃至軍隊。然而,面對這個現象,佛教內部不乏保持省思甚至批判的立場。討論的議題包括正念的定義、正念練習的去脈絡化、倫理問題、社會責任。本文回顧並探討英語佛教界知識份子對當代正念課程的省思與批判,描述當代正念社群的回應,並對相關的議題提供筆者的一些初步觀察與意見。
