Abstract菩薩一詞早在部派時期,即被論師廣泛的討論。然在有部根本論典的《發智論》中僅提到:「齊何名菩薩?答:齊能造作增長相異熟業。得何名菩薩?答:得相異熟業。」卻未有具體之說明。直至《大毘婆沙論》以三卷廣大的篇幅,對此做了詳細之注釋;不過到了初期大乘的《大智度論》,卻針對其說明作了一連串的評斥。本文即是以《大智度論》中評論《大毘婆沙論》的部分,探其雙方之不同點;並嘗試以龍樹所作《大智度論》之觀點,探究其破斥之內涵及理論根據。而從龍樹的破斥根據來看,深深感受到其「性空學者」之特質,將一切法會歸於「緣起畢竟空」,故皆不可得。
