| Abstract | 본 논의는 고려대장경에 담긴 문화적 함의를 살펴보고, 그 문화적 가치를 재발견하여 과거의 소중한 문화유산과 기록유산으로서의 위치를 다시 한 번 논의하고자 한다. 아울러 이를 통해 문화유산이자 기록유산인 고려대장경을 활용하는 한 방안으로서의 전자불전에 대해 논의해보고자 한다.
본 논의는 과거의 역사적인 상황의 규명과 과정에 대한 것이 아니라 현재와 미래에서 대장경의 가치를 드높이는데 이바지 하고자 한다.
먼저 대장경이 지니는 불교적 의의에 대해 살펴보았다. 아울러 고려대장경이 조성되게 된 경위와 그 의의에 대해 정리하였다.
고려대장경의 가치를 세계문화유산으로서의 가치에 대해서 살펴보고, 세계 기록유산으로서의 가치를 함께 논의하였다. 이러한 점에서 고려대장경이 지니는 총체적이고 입체적인 문화적 함의를 살폈다. 우선 대장경의 의의와 특징을 원형성에 있다고 보았고, 종교적 기능을 담당했으며, 대중성과 사회성의 지향의 결과물이라는 관점으로 제안하였다.
아울러 한글대장경과 세 번째 대장경 조성불사라 할 수 있는 전자불전에 대해 살펴보았다. 불전전산화의 토대를 확립한 고려대장경연구소의 고려대장경 디지털 서비스로 보았다. 아울러 고려대장경연구소를 비롯한 전자불전을 위한 단체들과 전자불전 보살들의 노력의 성과를 통해 디지털 대장경의 현재를 조망해 보았다. 이는 유산으로서의 대장경의 보존과 활용을 위한 다양한 노력의 결과라고 볼 수 있다.
본 논의에서 대장경 2.0의 제안을 통해 초조대장경 천년의 해에 새로운 도전이라는 발걸음을 크게 내딛어야 할 것이다.
This study set out to examine the cultural implications of Tripitaka Koreana, rediscover its cultural values, and renew its status as one of the valuable cultural and record assets of the past. It also aimed to discuss electronic Buddhist Texts as a way to utilize Tripitaka Koreana, a cultural and record asset.
The study tried to make a contribution to the higher values of Tripitaka Koreana in the present and future rather than to examine its historical situations and processes.
First examined in the study was the Buddhist significance of Tripitaka Koreana along with the background and significance of its creation.
Then the investigator moved onto examining its values as a world cultural and record asset and further its overall and solid cultural implications.
Tripitaka Koreana, whose significance and characteristics lie in its qualities as an archetype, performed religious functions and was the product of orientation towards popularity and sociality.
Also discussed in the study were electronic Buddhist Texts, which are called the third Tripitaka creation project, as well as the Hangul Tripitaka.
The investigator also examined the digital service of Tripitaka Koreana provided by the Research Institute of Tripitaka Koreana, which built a foundation for Buddhist Texts digitization, and the efforts to create electronic Buddhist Texts by various organizations including the Research Institute of Tripitaka Koreana and Buddhists of electronic Buddhist Texts,
getting a picture of the current state of digital tripitaka based on the accomplishments, which are attributed to diverse efforts to preserve and utilize the tripitaka as a legacy.
The study proposed a big step of new challenge in the 1,000th anniversary of the First Tripitaka Koreana through Tripitaka 2.0. |
