Abstract『梵網經』은 天台智顗의 『菩薩戒義疏』에 의해 주석된 뒤, 法藏이나 太賢 등 의 주석가들에 의해 한층 더 대승적으로 주석된다. 그러나 智顗의 주석과 法藏 이후의 주석에는 戒體論이나 註釋法 등에 있어서 몇 가지의 상이점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 차이의 원인을 元曉와의 관계에서 파악하는 것을 제안한다.
元曉의 『梵網經』주석서로서는 『菩薩戒本持犯要記』와 『梵網經菩薩戒私記』가 현존한다. 元曉는 많은 저술에서 智顗의 영향을 받았다고 논해진다. 특히 『梵網經』에 있어서는 智顗의 三聚浄戒사상을 인용하여 보다 대승적으로 발전시킨 형태를 보인다.
본 연구에서는 元曉의 『梵網經』주석서와 智顗의 『菩薩戒義疏』에 나타난 戒體論과 科文 등을 비교하여, 元曉의 주석에 나타나 있는 智顗의 영향을 파악하겠다. 그리고 元曉가 그것을 어떻게 인용하여 대승적으로 발전시켰는가에 대하여 논하겠다.

This paper studies Zhiyi’s influence on Wonhyo’s commentary on the Fanwang-jing (梵網經 Sutra of Brahmāʼs Net). The Yogacara School’s teaching of Three Categories of Pure Precepts (三聚淨戒) was introduced in Zhiyi’s Commentary on the Fanwang-jing , the Pusajie yishu (菩薩戒義 疏 Commentary on the Meaning of the Bodhisattva Precepts). Wonhyo expounded on these “pure precepts” more broadly and applied them to the concept of “All Sentient Beings Receiving the Buddhist Precepts. In addition, Wonhyo emphasized the essence and effects of these precepts presented in the Fanwang-jing and commented on them by applying the concept of the ”Marvelous Existence of the Middle Way”.
The textual organization used by Zhiyi and Wonhyo are quite similar. In writing Beommanggyeong-bosalgyebon-sagi (梵網経菩薩戒本私記 Commentary on the Chapter of the Bodhisattva Precepts in the Brahmā’s Net Sutra), Wonhyo used a textual organization similar to Zhiyi’s commentary on the Fanwang-jing . Wonhyo subdivided Zhiyi’s textual organization to emphasize transmission of the precepts. Thus, Wonhyo’s commentary on the Fanwang-jing was based on introducing the Three Categories of Pure Precepts using Zhiyi’s textual organization. Wonhyo then actively applied it to the development of precepts in Mahāyāna Buddhism.
