Abstract본고는 신라 義湘(625-702)의 대표적인 저술인 『一乘法界圖』가 법성에 중점을 두어 화엄일승 법계를 그려낸 것임을 밝히고자 한 것이다.
의상의 법성은 法性性起이니, 법성과 眞性이 상즉하여 둘이 아니면서도법성성기가 진성연기를 함께 포섭한 세계가 법계임을 천명한 것이다.
의상이 법계를 그려 보인 「반시」는 融三世間佛의 성기세계이다. 그리고智正覺世間의 불보살 경계를 보인 「법계도인」이 육상원융의 연기세계를 의미하는 것이면서 그 또한 법성가의 德用인 中道를 드러내기 위한 것이다. 또한 「반시」에서 일승법계를 언설로 표현한 「법성게」의 구성 내용을 통해서도,증분의 법성과 연기분의 진성이 相卽하여 둘이 아니지만 법성이 진성을 함께 포섭한 세계가 일승법계임을 알 수 있게 한다. 그것은 十佛과 해인삼매와의 관련뿐만 아니라 십불과 舊來佛, 법성과 구래불의 관계 등에도 여실히 드러나고 있다.
동전 열 개를 사용하여 十錢이 十門을 구족하여 상즉 상입함을 보인 의상특유의 數十錢法으로 연기실상다라니를 관찰하게 한 것 역시 법성성기로 인도하기 위한 방편인 것이다.
이상과 같은 의상의 법계관은 화엄법계가 佛華嚴의 세계이면서 화엄보살행이 바로 불세계의 장엄임을 다시 한 번 분명히 보여준 것이라고 하겠다.

Uisang (義湘, 625-702), Ilseungbeopgye-do (一乘法界圖), illustrates his perspectives on the Dharmadhātu of Hwa-eom Single Vehicle (華嚴一乘) focused on the Dharma-nature. The Dharma-nature understood by Uisang is the Dharma-nature Nature-arising (法性性起), which is the world that the Dharma-nature Nature-arising includes the True Nature Dependent Co-arising while, being immediately identified, the Dharma-nature and the True Nature cannot be differentiated.
Uisang's illustration of the Dharmadhātu, or Bansi, represents the Nature-arising world of the Combination of the Three Realms (融三世間). The Red Diagram Seal of Dharmadhātu, which reveals the realms of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the World of Buddha mind (智正覺世間), visually shows the world of Dependent Co-arising of the Perfect Harmony of Six Characteristics of Dharmas (六相圓融)and the Middle way of the virtuous skills described in the beopseong-gye. In addition, the message of the beopseong-gye,explaining the ekayāna Dharmadhātu by words, asserts that the ekayāna Dharmadhātu is the realm that the Dharma-nature embraces the True Nature even though the Dharma-nature of the Enlightened Reality (證分) and the True Nature of the Dependent Co-arising (緣起分) are phenomenally identical so that cannot be divided. It is repeatedly confirmed by the relationships of Dharma-nature and the Ten Buddhas to the Buddha transmitted from the Past (舊來佛)respectively, in addition to the relationship between the Ten Buddhas and the Ocean Seal Samādhi.
It is a skillful means leading to the Dharma-nature that Uisang draws our attention to the reality of Dependent Co-arising by using Ten Coins Numeric Exposition (數十錢法), which is an Uisang's unique way of demonstrating by using ten coins that the Ten Gates are mutually and immediately identical with and interpenetrating into others.
In conclusion, Uisang's perspective on the Dharmadhātu shown above clearly points out that the Hwa-eom Dharmadhātu is the world of Buddha Adornment and the Bodhisattva practice of Hwa-eom is in fact the adornment of the Buddha world.
