Abstract文獻學研究是哲學、思想、歷史等研究開展的重要基礎。關於佛教文獻學，除了梵、巴、漢、藏的佛典對勘，以及敦煌文獻及日本古寫經的研究受到重視之外，明清佛教典籍迄今未獲足夠的文獻學清理。不唯如此，除了少數學者以外，大部分的研究者對於藏外文獻的運用也不夠重視。引進傳統文獻學的研究意識與方法是堆高此一領域研究基礎不可或缺的一個環節。本文以筆者博士論文研究對象空印鎮澄（1547-1617）為例，從例舉的方式具體說明傳統文獻學的知識與技能對於明清佛教研究的拓展與深化能夠起什麼樣的作用。
