Abstract曇鸞の浄土教思想ならびにその思想背景について解明し、併せて関連する『往生論』『十住毘婆沙論』の検討も加えている。インドで誕生した仏教が中国の風土へと移入して中国独自の発展を遂げていくなかで、曇鸞がそれらをいかに摂取して自らの浄土教思想を構築したかについて論じたもので、その手法は以後の曇鸞研究にも大きな影響を与えている。
