| Abstract | 창시자의 첫 종교체험은 그가 창시한 종교를 이해하기 위해서 매우 중요하다. 예수는 세례요한으로부터 세례를 받고 난 직후 성령의 강림을 체험하는바 이것이 그의 첫 종교체험이다. 바로 그 순간부터 그는 전혀 다른 인간으로 변모한다. 이 순간 이전까지 그는 종교와 전혀 상관없이 살았으며 어떤 종교체험을 의도적으로 시도한 적도 없었다. 그러나 이 체험 직후부터 그는 열정적 전도자가 되었으며 많은 신봉자들이 그를 따랐고 결국 위대한 종교전통인 기독교가 시작되었다.
성인이 된 싯다르타는 예수와 달리 계획적 종교체험을 한다. 깨달음을 체험한 싯다르타 역시 완전히 새로운 사람, 붓다가 되고 위대한 전통 불교가 시작된다.
이 논문은 붓다와 예수의 종교체험을 1) 체험과 관계된 의도나 계획, 2) 체험을 매개자나 인도자의 여부, 3) 체험의 상세한 묘사 여부, 4) 두 사람의 인생에서 체험이 갖는 의미, 5) 초월적 체험 혹은 일상적 체험, 9) 체험 직후의 심사숙고의 과정, 10) 유혹의 유무, 11) 체험에서 비롯되는 권위나 자신감, 12) 신봉자들에 의한 재체험의 시도 등의 12가지 주제로 비교분석한 논구이다.
결론적으로, 그 12가지 주제 중에서 1), 2), 6), 7)은 서로 다른 성격으로 나타나는 반면, 3), 4), 5), 8), 9), 10), 11), 12) 공동적 성격을 갖는다. 두 사람의 체험은 서로 다른 내용과 성격을 가짐에도 불구하고, 3분의 2 이상이나 유사한 성격과 구조를 보여준다. 두 창시자의 이 8가지 보편적 성격은 다른 모든 종교적 체험의 준거가 될 수 있을 것이다.
The first religious experience of founder is a quite important element to understand of his religion. Jesus experienced the decent of the holy just after being baptized by John the baptist. This is the first religious experience of Jesus. From this point, he became a completely different person. Before this time, he had lived regardless of any religion and had never tried to do any religious experience intentionally. But After this experience, he became an enthusiastic evangelist and a lot of people followed him, and a great religious tradition, Christianity started.
The young Siddhārta also had some unplanned experiences like Jesus, but adult Siddhārta tried to do intentional experiences. Experienced enlightenment, he also became a completely different person, or Buddha and went into action, then the great tradition, Buddhism began.
This paper compares together the experiences of Jesus and Buddha concerning 12 subjects such as 1) unintentional or planned experience, 2) whether any mediator for experience was or not, 3) detail description of the religious experience, 4) the status of their experience in their life, 5) transcendental character of their experience, 6) internal or external, 7) gradual or sudden, 8) ultimate or normal life experience, 9) serious consideration just after experience, 10) whether or not temptation was, 11) charisma or confidence derived from experience, 12) attempt to do reexperience of other people.
In the one hand, among them, 1), 2), 6), 7) have different characters and in the other hand 3), 4), 5), 8), 9), 10), 11), 12) have common characters. In spite of different contents, one third common characters and structures are there.
These 8 universal characters in structure among 12 characters of the two founder's experience can be the standard or criteria for all other religious experiences. |
