| Abstract | 백파는 환성지안의 『선문오종강요』를 중심으로 기타 몇 가지 문헌에 근거하여『선문오종강요사기』를 저술하여 조동오위에 대한 견해를 피력하고 있다.
조동오위를 대표하는 편정오위는 동산양개로부터 유래된 것으로서 이후 출현했던자신의 공훈오위, 조산본적의 군신오위, 석상경제의 왕자오위 등의 근원이되었다. 여기에서 백파는 4종의 오위의 제목을 언급하고 있지만 왕자오위에대해서는 그 설명을 생략하였다. 나머지 3종 오위에 대해서도 백파는 일률적으로정중편◐, 편중정◐, 정중래●, 겸중지○, 겸중도● 등 다섯 개의 동그라미의형상을 공통된 것으로 적용하고 있다.
또한 백파는 조동오위에 대한 대혜의 견해를 적극적으로 수용하여 자신의견해를 옹호하는 근거로 활용하고 있으며, 나아가서 백파는 『선문오종강요』에대하여 몇 가지 오자를 지적하기도 하였다. 백파는 기존의 조동종 계통에서정통으로 주장해 오던 오위사상의 중심 곧 제오위의 겸중도 중심의 견해를임제종에서 주장하는 견해 곧 제삼위 정중래 중심으로 내세우고, 또한 그에상응하여 제사위의 용어를 조동종 계통의 편중지에 상대하여 겸중지로 내세우고있다.
백파는 『선문오종강요사기』에서 조동오위에 대한 견해를 처음부터 조사선이아닌 여래선의 범주에 포함시킴으로써 조동종지가 임제종지보다 하열하다는견해를 주장하였다. 이것은 『선문오종강요사기』에서 백파가 보여준 선종오가에대한 견해가 조동오위에도 그대로 적용되고 있음을 보여준다. 때문에 백파는처음부터 조동종이 아닌 임제종의 입장에서 조동오위를 설명하기 때문에기존의 조동종에서 전승되어오던 제오위의 겸중도중심설을 부정하고임제종에서 전승되어오던 제삼위의 정중래중심설을 수용하고 있다.
BackPa emphasized that the Caodong - wuwei(it means the five - positions of Caodong - sect 曹洞五位) in Seonmun Ojong gangyo - Sagi. There are four kinds of wuwei : Pian zheng wuwei(偏正五位), Gong xun wuwei(功勳五位), Jun chen wuwei(君臣五位), Wang zi wuwei(王子五位).
Generally speaking, the Caodong - wuwei were made of five notions. Among them, the terms of Pian zheng wuwei are specially famous. First, zheng zhong pian. It means the phenomena identical with ultimate reality, Actuality of Principle(正中偏) describe ◐ . Second, pian zhong zheng(it means the ultimate reality identical with phenomena, Principle of Actuality(偏中正) describe ◐ .
Third, zheng zhong lai. It means the ultimate reality itself, pure Principle(正中來) describe⊙. fourth, pian zhong zhi. It means the phenomena themselves, pure Actuality(偏中至) describe○. Fifth, jian zhong dao. It means the realm beyond both of them, Sublime(兼中到) describe●.
In the Seonmun Ojong gangyo - Sagi, BackPa was not accepted about Tung shan Liang chieh, but he accepted about Daihui - zonggao(大慧宗杲). And, BackPa was not explained about the Wang zi wuwei. Above of all, BackPa emphasized that the Linchi - sect is the best seon sect. And, he grouped the five seon sects into three classes. The first group, so called Patriarch seon(祖師禪),are Lin - chi sect and Yün mên sect. The second group, so called Tathagata seon (如來禪), are Cao dong sect, Wei yang sect and Fa yan sect. The third group, so called Theoretical seon, are nothing. Therefore, BackPa grouped the Caodong - wuwei is the thought of Tathagata seon in this Seonmun Ojong gangyo - Sagi.
In the end, complements of Caodong - wuwei by BackPa was prejudiced, what is called, the inside measurements of a descendent of Lin-chi sect. |
