| Abstract | 한국과 일본은 불교를 생활과 문화의 중심으로 하는 나라로써 다양한 방면에서 불교의 영향을 찾아볼 수 있다. 두 나라 모두 중국불교의 영향을 받으며 발달해 왔기에 그 유사 성은 더욱 크다. 그리고 특히 이러한 점은 승가교육에 있어서도 확인할 수 있다. 일본은 우리나라의 승가교육기관인 강원과 비슷한 승당이라는 교육기관을 통해 선종의 전통승 가교육을 이어가고 있으며, 불교의 여러 종파에서 종립대학을 설립하여 각 종파의 종지 에 따른 현대식 불교교육을 하고 있다.
본 논문에서는 이러한 일본불교의 교육기관 중 전통교육을 담당하는 승당과 일반교육 과 전문교육을 담당하는 불교계 대학을 조사하여 우리나라의 불교교육과의 차이점과 유사성을 확인하려고 한다. 교육기관의 모습이나 명칭에서 상당한 유사한 형태를 보이 지만, 각 나라에 따른 문화와 사회의 영향에 따라 그 내부적인 면에서는 결정적인 차이 가 존재한다. 그렇기에 본 논문에서 다루는 이러한 비교조사는 두 나라의 불교를 이해 하고 상호 보완할 수 있는 중요한 자료가 될 것이다.
As Korea and Japan are countries with Buddhism as the center of life and culture, the influence of Buddhism can be found in various fields. Both countries have developed under the influence of Chinese Buddhism, so the similarities are even greater. And these similarities can also be confirmed in Sangha education. In Japan, the traditional Sangha education of the Zen Buddhism is taught in Seungdang(Japanese traditional monastry), similar to Gangwon(korean traditional monastry), a Korean Sangha educational institution. And many Buddhist sects have established universities to provide modern Buddhist education.
In this study, I will examine the Seungdang and Buddhist Universities of Japanese Buddhism to confirm the differences from Korea. The forms and names of educational institutions are very similar. However, there is also a difference in internal aspects by differences in culture and society between the two countries. Therefore, the comparative study of this paper will be an important data to understand and complement the Buddhism of Korea and Japan. |
