Among the five schools of Chan, Linji is the most prominent. After the Song Dynasty, the Yang Qi school swept the world and pushed the Linji School to its heyday. Therefore, there is a saying in the history of Chan that Linji occupied the world. The Huanglong school, which is juxtaposed with the Yangqi, used to be overwhelming, but disappeared through transmission. In later generations, Yangqi is regarded as the authentic Chan or Linji when we talk about Chan. In terms of style, Yangqi is simple, down-to-earth, all-embracing, and dragon-like.
