| Abstract | 중국선의 시작은 菩提達磨로부터 비롯된다. 그것은 오늘날 전승되어 온 선종이 보 리달마의 법손들에 의하여 형성되고 발전되었으며 전승되었기 때문이다. 중국선종이 오늘날까지 건재할 수 있었던 것은 그 전개의 이면에 다양한 요소들이 깃들어 있다. 인도의 선법에서 중시되었던 次第 및 漸修의 선법이 중국선종에서는 차제와 점수 이 외에도 頓敎法門을 바탕으로 하는 祖師禪法의 발전이 큰 몫을 차지하였다. 그러나 가장 큰 영향은 아무래도 조사의 법맥을 형성하고 내세우며 홍보하면서 자파의 권위 및 존재를 부각시키려는 노력이었다. 그 중심에 위치한 개념이 곧 傳燈系譜의 형성 이었다. 본격적인 전등계보의 형성은 혜능과 신수의 법손들에 의하여 각자의 정통성 을 주장하려고 내세웠던 문중의 자긍심으로부터 비롯되었지만, 그 이전에도 이미 소박한 법맥의 전승 내지 주장이 있었다.
먼저 중국에서 형성되었고 전개되었던 선종에서는 그 권위와 정통성을 멀리 인도 에서까지 찾으려는 노력의 일환으로서 『達摩多羅禪經』과 『付法藏因緣傳』을 비롯한 소위 禪經에 다그 근거를 두고 몇가지 법맥의 유형을 만들어갔다. 따라서 인도의석 가모니에게 정법안장의 근원을 두고 그 법맥을 계승했다는 전등계보가 형성되었다. 이로써 인도선법에 대한 傳燈付法說의 조사는 『달마다라선경』의 9조사설로부터 비 롯하여 『부법장인연전』의 23조사 혹은 24조사설로 발전되고, 이것이 『摩訶止觀』으로 수용되었으며, 다시 『左溪大師碑』에서 29조사설로 확대되었다.
다음으로 북종선의 전등계보로서는 기존의 인도와 관련된 전등계보를 계승하여 {楞伽經}의 전수자들을 중심으로 형성되었다는 점이 돋보인다. 그 계보는 『달마다라 선경』(411) ⟶ 『부법장인연전』(472) ⟶ 『法如禪師碑文』(689) ⟶ 『능가불인법지』(?) ⟶ 『傳法寶紀』(712-713) ⟶ 『楞伽師資記』(713-716)이다.
다음으로 남종선의 전등계보로서는 荷澤神會의 노력에 힘입어 남종의 정통성을 강조하기 위하여 북종의 전등계보를 발판으로 활용하여 그 위에 남종의 전등계보가 완성되었다. 그 계보는 『달마다라선경』(411) ⟶ 『부법장인연전』(472) ⟶ 『전법보기』 의 비판으로 등장한 『菩提達摩南宗定是非論』(732) ⟶ 『좌계대사비』(754) ⟶ 『능가사자기』의 비판으로 등장한 『曆代法寶記』(774) ⟶ 『曹溪大師傳』(781) ⟶ 돈황본 『壇經』 (780-800) ⟶ 『寶林傳』(801)이다.
The beginning of China seon sects from Bodhidharma in early 6c. Nowaday all seon sects of the East Asia are descendants of Bodhidharma. In early seon sects, they made of pedigrees of transmit the Dharma-light from India seon thoughts to Chines seon sects. The pedigrees of transmit the Dharma-light means the Eye Store house of the Dharma. So the Eye Store-house of the Dharma is enlightenments of Buddhism. The Dharma light a figurative expression of enlightenments. And the books about Dharma light originated each other of seon sects.
In early seon sects of China, the pedigrees of transmit the Dharma light is based on the Sutras and analects including the Damoduoluochanjing(達摩多羅禪經) - nine patriarchs ⟶ Fufacangyinyuanchuan(付法藏因緣傳) - twenty three patriarchs.
The Northern seon-sect that expounded by Shen-hsiu disciple of Ta-man Hung-jen made of the Damoduoluochanjing(達摩多羅禪經) - nine patriarchs ⟶ Fufacang yinyuanchuan(付法藏因緣傳) - twenty three patriarchs ⟶ Lengqieforenfazhi(楞伽 佛人法志) ⟶ Chuanfabaoji(傳法寶紀) - seven patriarchs ⟶ Lengqieshiziji(楞伽師 資記) - seven patriarchs. The pedigrees of transmit the Dharma-light in Northern seon sect rooted in Lengqiejing(楞伽經).
The southern seon sect that expounded by Hui-neung disciple of Taman- Hungjen and Shen-hsiu made of the Putidamonanzongdingshifeilun(菩提達摩南宗 定是非論) - thirteen patriarchs ⟶ Lidaifabaoji(曆代法寶記) - twenty seven patriarchs ⟶ Caoxidashichuan(曹溪大師傳) - thirty three patriarchs ⟶ Tanjing(壇經) thirty three patriarchs ⟶ Baolinchuan(寶林傳) thirty three patriarchs. The pedigrees of transmit the Dharma light in southern seon sect rooted in the pedigrees of transmit the Dharma-light of Northern seon sect. |
