Abstract이 논문은 선주(善珠)의 『유식분량결』「삼량분별문」을 분석하며 해석한 것이다. 선주는 4분을 3량에 의해 구분하면서, 견분은 3량이 다 될 수 있고, 자증분과 증자증분은 오직 현량만이 될 수 있고, 상분은 어느 량이든 될 수 없다는 것을 보여준다. 또, 선주는 이 중 견분의 3량이 전후로 생하는지, 동시에 생하는지 하는 문제를 다루고, 전후로 생한다는 견해에 서서 동시에 생한다는 견해를 비판한다. 견분의 3량이동시에 생할 수 없는 것은 견분이 외부의 대상으로 향해서 연하기 때문이다. 반면에, 자증분의 현량과 견분의 3량은 동시에 생할 수 있는데, 그 이유는 자증분의 현량이 3량과는 달리 자체로 향하는, 곧 자체(自體)를 증(證)하는 량이기 때문이다. 또 선주는, 선성과 악성은 체성(體性)이기 때문에 견분의 3량이 그렇듯이 동시에 생할 수 없고, 그런 까닭에 자증분은 염오도 비염오도 아니라고 주장한다.


This paper is to analyze and interpret the Chapter of Discerning Three Types of the Measuring(三量分別品) in the Detemination of the Four types of the Consciousness(唯識分量決) written by Shànzhū(善珠). Discerning the four parts of the consciousness by means of three types of the measuring, he discovers that the seeing part of the consciousness can be interpreted as all the three types of measuring, and both the self-consciousness and the authenticating of the self-consciousness is mere intuitions, and the seen part of the consciousness can be no measuring. He deals with the matter of whether the three types of the measuring occurs successively or simultaneously, and he criticizes the view of occurring simultaneously from the standpoint of occurring successively. The reason why the three types of the seeing doesn't occur simultaneously is because the seeing is directed toward the outer object. On the contrary, both the intuition of the self-consciousness and three types of the seeing can occur simultaneously, and it is because the intuition of the self-consciousness is directed toward itself and authenticates itself unlike the three types of the measuring. He claims that the wholesomeness and the unwholesomeness can not occur simultaneously as the three types of the seeing do, and so the self-consciousness is neither defilement nor non-defilement.
