| Abstract | 衆賢의 『순정리론』에는 譬喩者와 經量部라는 술어가 각기 54번, 32번 언급되는데 대체로 비유자는 그들의 학설을 인용할 때 언급하고, 경량부는 그들의 經證이나 佛說해석을 비판하면서 언급한다. 『순정리론』과 동일계통의 문헌인 『아비달마디파』의 경우도 역시 그러하다. 그것은 ``譬喩者``가 『대비바사론』 이래 자타에 의해 호칭된 일반 명칭이었다면, ``經量部``는 法性중심의 有部의 佛說論을 비판하고 다만 불타에 의해 직접 설해진 顯了의 佛說(經)만을 지식의 근거(pramana, 量)로 삼는다고 주장한上座슈리라타 계통의 비유자들의 자칭이었기 때문이다. 본고는 『아비달마디파』 상에서 각기 9번, 4번 언급된 비유자와 경량부, 그리고 이들과 上座슈리라타, 세친의 관계를 『순정리론』에 근거하여 밝힌 것으로, 특히 『아비달마디파』에서 비유자와 경량부라는 두 술어는 서로 바꾸어 사용할 수 있는 말이 아니다고 주장한 R. 크리처(Kritzer)의 본고와 同名의 논문을 비판적으로 검토하였다. 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째 디파카라는 비유자와 경량부를 동의어로 이해하였다. 둘째, 그러나 디파카라는 중현의 후계자답게 ``경량부``라는 말을 기피하였다. 그는 그들의 학설을 ``경량부``라는 말로는 인용하지 않으며(Ⅲ-1은 확인불가) 다만 그들 비유자를 비판하면서 經說의 그릇된 이해를 비난할 때 사용하였다. 셋째, 그 정체가 불명인 한 곳(Ⅲ-1)을 제외하면, 비유자든, 경량부든, 인용된 그들의 학설이든, 이에 대한 비판이든 모두 『순정리론』 상에 인용 비판되고 있는 上座와 관련 있다. 넷째, 중현에 의하면 상좌 일파는 대승 空見(壞法論)과 유사한 이들이었고, 세친은 상좌 일파(즉 경량부)와 가까이하였지만 그들의 일원은 아니었다. 디파카라 또한 세친을 비유자/경량부와 결부시켜 논의하지만, 그를 ``설일체유부로부터 타락한 Vaitulika``로 호칭하기도 하였는데, 이는 세친이 대승과 유사한 상좌 일파와 가까이 하였고, 그후 실제 대승으로 전향하였기 때문일 것이다.
In Nyāyānusāraśāstra the term Dārṣṭāntika and Sautrāntika are referred 32, 54 times each. Mostly, Dārṣṭāntika is referred when it quote their theory, Sautrāntika is referred as criticism. In case of Abhidhamadīpa, which they are referred 9, 4 times each, the same genealogical reference also does. That is because if Dārṣṭāntika was general name after Abhidharmamahāvibhāaṣāśāstra, Sautrāntika was a self-styled name of a Sthavira's sect of Dārṣṭāntika. They criticized Sarvāstivādin's view of Buddha words which are focused on logical truth (dharmatā), and claimed that they only take the words(sūtra), which are preached by Buddha himself, as a base of truth(pramāṇa).
This thesis revealed the relationship between Dārṣṭāntika, Sautrāntika, which are referred in Abhidhamadīpa, and Sthavira Śrīlāta, Vasubandhu base on Nyāyānusāraśāstra. Particularly, this thesis critically reviewed the same-titled thesis of Robert Kritzer which claimed that the term Dārṣṭāntika and Sautrāntika are not replaceable.
Conclusions are following.:
First, Dīpakāra understood Dārṣṭāntika and Sautrāntika as a synonym. Second, however, Dīpakāra, like Saṃghabhadra's successor avoided the word
Sautrāntika. He didn't quoted their theory as the word Sautrāntika(III-1 is not confirmed), but used the term when to criticize Dārṣṭāntika's misunderstanding of the Buddha words(sūtra).
Third, except for the not confirmed one(III-1), Dārṣṭāntika, Sautrāntika, their theory quoted, and criticism for those, are all related to Sthavira which is quoted and criticized in Nyāyānusāraśāstra.
Fourth, according to Saṃghabhadra, Sthavira's sect is similar to Mahāyāna Śūnyatā-vādin(i.e., 壞法論: Destroyers of Buddha-śāsana), but Vasubandhu was not a member of Sthavira's sect even though he got along with them. Dīpakāra also discussed Vasubandhu related to Dārṣṭāntika/Sautrāntika, but he was also called as ‘Vaitulika who is corrupted from Sarvāstivādin’. This is because Vasubandhu was close with Sthavira's sect similar to Mahāyāna, and later actually turn to Mahāyāna.
