In the six Chinese manuscripts of Tripitaka unearthed in Dunhuang, one of them was prduced by Empress Dugu in the ninth year after the establishment of the Sui Dynasty. It has 6 volumes in existence.Due to the fact that the "Encyclopedia of Sutras" produced by Empress Dugu in Wendi’s regime fell in the category of "being official",Empress Dugu was the first queen writing Tripitaka in Chinese history.Based on what had been recorded in historical books on Buddhism, this paper explores such issues:who had supervised Empress Dugu in her production of the sutras;against which master copy it was produced;where and how many copies had been made;what might be the situation of circulation and what impact it might have created.
