AbstractPendidikan merupakan proses pendewasaan peserta didik dari tidak tahu menjadi tahu. Proses pembelajaran mencakup kegiatan belajar mengajar antara guru dan peserta didik yang meliputi, karakter siswa berupa perilaku belajar siswa, sarana dan prasarana, metode pembelajaran, motivasi belajar siswa sebagai unsur-unsur pendidikan. Motivasi belajar merupakan faktor keberhasilan dalam pembelajaran yang terlihat pada nilai hasil belajar. Nilai hasil belajar adalah nilai hasil setelah mengikuti proses pembelajaran, apabila siswa memiliki nilai yang tinggi, maka memiliki motivasi yang tinggi untuk belajar. Dan juga pada nilai sedang maupun rendah, sehingga siswa memiliki motivasi yang sedang dan rendah dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran. Penelitian menggunakan metode studi kasus yaitu dengan menyebarkan angket penelitian yang berisi pertanyaan yang mengarah pada identitas dari setiap karakter dalam agama Buddha. Jawaban responden menentukan karakteristiknya masing-masing berdasarka enam carita yaitu Ragacarita (watak keserakahan, kesenangan), Dosacarita (watak pemarah/kebencian), Mohacarita (watak kebodohan, kebingungan), Vitakacarita (watak kekawatiran), Saddhacarita (watak keyakinan/mudah percaya), dan Buddhicarita (watak kecerdasan/spiritual). Penelitian yang dilakukan telah menghasilkan bahwa berdasarkan enam karakter diatas yang berpengaruh sehingga memiliki hubungan terhadap motivasi belajar adalah karakter Budhicarita (watak kecerdasan) yang memiliki kecenderungan pada hal spiritual. Kelima
karakter lain tidak memiliki pengaruh sehingga tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan. Hal ini juga dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti.

Education is a process of maturing students from not knowing to knowing. The learning process includes teaching and learning activities between teachers and students which include student character in the form of student learning behavior, facilities and infrastructure, learning methods, student learning motivation as elements of education. Motivation to learn is a success factor in learning that can be seen in the value of learning outcomes. The value of learning outcomes is the value of results after participating in the learning process, if students have high scores, then they have high motivation to learn. And also at medium and low grades, so that students have moderate and low motivation in carrying out learning. This research uses a case study method, namely by distributing a research questionnaire containing questions that lead to the identity of each character in Buddhism. Respondents' answers determined their respective characteristics based on six caritas, namely Ragacarita (greed, pleasure), Dosacarita (anger / hatred), Mohacarita (ignorance, confusion), Vitakacarita (worry), Saddhacarita (confidence/trustworthiness), and Buddhicarita (intellectual / spiritual nature). The research that has been conducted has resulted that based on the six characters above that have an effect so that it has a relationship to learning motivation is the Budhicarita character (the character of intelligence) which has a tendency towards spiritual matters. The other five characters have no influence, so there is no significant relationship. It can also be influenced by other factors that were not studied.
