| Abstract | 이 논문에서는 백련사 4세 천책의 중국 천태종 조사의 관점에 대해 알아보고자 한다. 2장에서는 일본학계에서의 중국 천태종 조사에 대한 관점을 살펴본다. 일본학계에서는 천태지의 사상이 형계담연, 사명지례로 이어지면서 크게 2번 변화하였다는 관점을 취하고 있다. 이는 천태종의 조사에서 형계담연과 사명지례가 중요하다는 것이다. 3장에서는 천책 사상의 구조에 대해 선행연구에 의거해서 검토한다. 첫째, 천책의 사상에서는 선교일치를 주장하면서도 교학의 공부, 그 가운데서도 『법화경』의 독송을 강조한다. 둘째, 방편을 강조한다. 이는 보살행의 선교방편을 주장하는 것과 방편의 관점으로 유교, 불교, 도교의 조화를 제시하는 것으로 이어진다. 셋째, 『법화경』과 천태종 가르침의 국가적 효용성을 강조한다. 넷째, 『법화경』을 대중화하려는 노력을 기울이고 있고 정토사상을 제시하고 있다. 4장에서는 천책의 중국 천태종 조사에 대한 관점에 대해 알아본다. 천책이 중국에서 활동한 천태종의 조사 가운데 주목한 사람은 천태지의, 보운의통, 사명지례, 자운준식이다. 이는 일본학계에서 천태지의, 형계담연, 사명지례를 강조하는 것과 구분된다. 천책은 고려출신으로 중국 천태종의 조사가 된 보운의통을 강조한다. 이 보운의통의 제자가 사명지례와 자운준식이다. 이는 중국 천태종의 조사 가운데 기존에 부각되지 않았던 보운의통을 강조하는 것이고, 바로 이 점에서 천책이 가지고 있는 중국 천태종 조사의 관점의 특색을 읽을 수 있다.
In this article I will study the fourth patriarch of Baekryeonsa, Cheonchaek's viewpoint of chinese Tiantai zong patriarch. In chapter two, I study Japanese academic world's viewpoint of chinese Tiantai zong patriarch. Japanese academic world has the viewpoint that Tiantai-Zhiyi(天台智顗)'s thought changes twice continuing Jingi-Zhanran(荊溪湛然) and Siming Zhili(四明知禮). In chapter three, I study the four character of Cheonchaek's thought basing on the previous study. In chapter four, I study Cheonchaek's viewpoint of chinese Tiantai zong patriarch. The man who Cheonchaek takes notice among chinese Tiantai zong patriarch, are Tiantai-Zhiyi(天台智顗), Baoyun-Yitong(寶雲義通), Siming Zhili(四明知禮) and Ciyun-Zunshi(慈雲遵式). This Cheonchaek's viewpoint is distinguished Japanese academic world's viewpoint that emphasizes Tiantai-Zhiyi(天台智顗), Jingi-Zhanran(荊溪湛然) and Siming Zhili(四明知禮). Cheonchaek emphasizes Baoyun- Yitong(寶雲義通) who was from Koryeo and was 16th Head of the chinese Tiantai zong. The disciples of Baoyun-Yitong(寶雲義通) are Siming Zhili(四明知禮) and Ciyun-Zunshi(慈雲遵式). This emphasizes Baoyun-Yitong(寶雲義通) who did not emerge in the past. In this fact, we can read the character of Cheonchaek's viewpoint of chinese Tiantai zong patriarch.
