| Abstract | 본 논의는 불교 가운데 가장 대중적인 염불신앙을 통해 극락으로 인도하는 정토신앙과 관련된 사찰을 선정하고, 이를 성지순례코스로 개발하는데 필요한 여러 가지 문제점을 논의하였다. 정토신앙의 핵심인 아미타불의 48대원을 상징하는 사찰을 권역별로 선정하여 ‘정토로 가는 길(가칭)’ 48곳을 성지 순례코스로 선정하였다. 순례코스를 개발하기 위해서 먼저 정토신앙과 한국의 정토신앙의 특징을 도출하여 48사찰을 선택한 이유에 대해 논의하였다. 또한 순례에 대한 불교적 함의를 통해 순례가 지닌 문화사적 맥락을 이해하였다. 우리나라에 정토신앙과 관련한 문화유산 및 신앙이 이루어지고 있는 사찰을 현장답사하고 이와 관련한 여러 가지 사항을 하고, 성지순례 코스개발과 이를 실행하기 위한 문제에 대해서 논의하였다. 마지막으로 정토신앙 관련 성지순례코스를 실행하기 위해서 고려되어야 할 사항에 대해서 제안하였다. 이를 통해 향후 보다 진전된 논의가 이루어지길 기대한다. 연구된 결과 순례코스의 운영과 이를 다양한 방면에서 활용할 수 있는 가이드라인을 제시하여 전통문화의 관심을 이끌어내고 문화상품으로 적극 개발할 수 있는 토대를 마련코자 하였다. 순례코스의 개발은 가치창조는 문화관광이라는 새로운 시장에서 전혀 다른 형태의 가치를 제공하는 ‘가치장초’의 작업으로 활용될 것이다.
This research thesis made discussions on issues, surrounding the designation and development of temple sites as pilgrimage related to Buddhist Elysium, which wide-spreads the most universal public smrti belief system and guides people to the heaven world. And then, this thesis designated the major 48 temple sites of Amitayus Buddha, the hub of Buddhist Elysium in accordance with each range sphere, and selected 'the 48 roads to Buddhist Elysium' as regular pilgrimage courses. In this regard, this thesis made the analysis of characteristics that the general Buddhist Elysium and the Korean Traditional Buddhist Elysium belief system have, and made the reviews on why this research thesis selected 48 temple sites, in an attempt to develop pilgrimage courses. Also, this thesis attempted to examine the Buddhist implications and understand cultural contexts that pilgrimage has. This researcher made the site visit to temple sites that cultural heritages or religious belief systems on Buddhist Elysium are well-established. And them, this researcher discussed the agenda on the development of pilgrimage course and proposed a lot of guidelines and directions on pilgrimage in relation to Buddhist Elysium. Thus, it is expected that the closer discussions on it would be made in the future. In this manner, this research thesis is to provide guidelines on the operation of pilgrimage course, from macro-perspectives, and lay the foundation for the Korean traditional cultural contents to grow as cultural goods among much public attention. The development of pilgrimage will create different values in the new markets of cultural tourism. |
