Abstract승조가 지은 「물불천론(物不遷論)」은 중국사상사에서 유명한 글이다. ‘사물은 움직이지 않는다’는 제목과 내용으로 많은 관심을 받아온 문장이기도 하다. 당나라 징관(澄觀)이 문제를 제기한 이래 적지 않은 사람들이 「물불천론」의 내용을 분석했다. 명나라 말기엔 「물불천론」의 해석 문제를 놓고 10여년 동안 논쟁이 벌어지기도 했다. 이런 저런 이유로 「물불천론」에 대한 많은 주석이 현존한다. 이 논문은 「물불천론」을 해석한 주석서들의 내용을 비교 분석한 것이다. 그 결과, 위진남북조 시대 혜달(惠達)의 소(疏), 당나라 원강(元康)의 소(疏), 송나라 비사(秘思)·정원(淨源)의 주석 등의 단락 구분이 서로 다름을 확인했다. 혜달은 사람들이 ‘무상(無常)’에 집착하는 것을 없애기 위해 승조가 ‘불천’이라는 말을 사용했다고 지적했으며, 삼론학파가 상용한 ‘어제(於諦)’라는 말을 활용했다. 반면 원강은 필사본들을 대조하고, 언어학적인 측면에도 관심을 갖고, 중국 고전을 많이 인용해 「물불천론」을 설명했다. 『조론』에 대한 11세기 중기의 평가를 담은 평론이 실려 있는 것이 비사·정원 주석의 특색이다. 분석의 대상인 주석서들이 모두 논리성과 체계성을 갖추고 있으나 여일(如一)한 맛은 「원강소」가 보다 더 강한 것으로 보인다.

The WuBuQianLun(物不遷論) written by SengZhao(僧肇) is a famous article in Chinese thought history, and it is also a sentence that has received much attention with the title and content of ‘things do not move’. Since ChengGuan(澄觀) raised the issue in the Tang Dynasty, a number of people have analyzed the contents of the WuBuQianLun. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, there was a controversy over the interpretation of the WuBuQianLun for more than a decade. For this reason, many comments about WuBuQianLun exist. This paper is a comparative analysis of the contents of the commentary that interpreted the WuBuQianLun. As a result, it was confirmed that the divisions of paragraphs such as HuiDa(惠達)’s commentary of Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties(魏晉南北朝), YuanKang(元康)’s commentary of Tang Dynasty, and MiSi(秘思) and JingYuan(淨源)’s commentaries of Song Dynasty were different. HuiDa pointed out that SengZhao used the word ‘buqian(不遷)’ to eliminate people’s obsession with ‘WuChang(無常)’, and used the word ‘YuDi(於諦)’, which was commonly used by the SanLunXue(三論學) school. On the other hand, YuanKang contrasted manuscripts, was interested in linguistic aspects, and quoted many Chinese classics to explain WuBuQianLun. It is the characteristic of the MiSi and JingYuans’ commentaries that there is a review of the evaluation of the mid 11th century of the ZhaoLun(肇論). All the annotations that are the subject of analysis have logical and systematic characteristics, but the taste of consistent seems to be stronger in the YuanKang’s commentary.
